Policies

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 for boarding students ($350 for day students) is due within two weeks of notification of acceptance. The deposit is applied toward tuition. Tuition balance is due on or before May 1. Applications received after May 1 are considered, depending upon any workshop availability. For a student accepted after May 1, full tuition payment is due upon notification of acceptance.

Once accepted, any student whose plans change and who withdraws from the program prior to May 1 may have tuition refunded, minus the $50 application processing fee and minus the non-refundable $1,000 tuition deposit. Because we must hire staff long before the start of the session, no tuition refunds are made after May 1.

No refunds are made for any student who leaves the program, or who is asked to leave for violation of program expectations.

Financial Aid

Partial tuition assistance for one session is awarded based on the financial needs of the family, the strength of the applicant, and the resources available in our financial aid fund. We give priority to students who have not received awards in prior years. To be considered for aid, students must submit a completed application for admission prior to applying for financial aid.

We award aid whenever possible and gratefully acknowledge organizations and individuals who contribute to our financial aid fund.

The deadline to submit the Financial Aid form is March 1st. Once students are accepted into the programs, families are notified of financial aid awards as soon after the March 1st deadline as possible.

Medical Insurance

All Students are required to have insurance that provides medical coverage while attending The Putney School Summer Programs.

A $65 fee per session applies to international students who do not have medical insurance that is valid in the United States. This fee covers enrollment in a limited group medical and accident policy.
