Glass Arts

"A wonderful place where I learned many new things."

Students practice speaking, listening, reading and writing in class and through their immersion in our English speaking community. Students learn vocabulary, increase their knowledge of grammar, and improve their confidence through daily practice communicating in English and through participation in the arts workshops.

Our program offers:

  • Accelerated learning through language immersion
  • Activities in sports, art, music, and theater
  • Fun opportunities to practice English
  • Low student:faculty ratio

ESOL students select an afternoon arts workshop and are fully integrated with U.S. students in recreational activities, weekend trips, and dormitory life. Students also take evening classes in music, dance, theater, drawing, painting, other visual arts, or creative writing and gain confidence and skills through conversations and friendships with the 120 English speaking students who are enrolled in our program. We limit the number of students from each language/country, as a way of encouraging ESOL students' reliance on English throughout their time here, and offer strong support for students transitioning to schools in the U.S. or returning to advance-level English classes in their home country.

Countries represented in the last three years include:

Bahrain, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Monaco, Morocco, Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, and Turkey.
